this novel has three themes-

• aftermath of tragedy
• family
• cruelty of war

- The tragedy was the shooting of Fake Ploeg. Peter, Antons brother panicked when he saw the dead body in front of his house. So he decided to move it, but when he ran out to do so the three Nazi officers that shot the chief inspector of police (Fake Ploeg) spotted him. They started chasing him, but before they did they burnt down the house and his parents left in a truck. Anton ended up in a police station locked up in a cell. 

- The whole family was separated.

- In war nobody cares who you are, how much money you have, or where you came from.That is why war is so cruel.

if you are going through a tragedy like this what would you do?

so this is the book... honestly the cover doesn't look that appealing.

so far this book sets in 1945. during the second world war. its about a family that is suffering because it has nothing to eat, and it has so little or no freedom at all. the family goes through a lot of burdens as they go through the war.

so I started reading a new book, it is called The Assault  by Harry Mulisch. What I like about this book is that the author explains every single detail about it. This author has a lot of similarities to another author, Paulo Coelho... I don't really know how to end these posts so... hakuna matata
